The 2021 Northwest Carving Academy has been cancelled
due to Covid-19.

Due to the unpredictability of the Covid-19 virus, the uncertainty of what the state and local guidelines will be in July, and the other factors related to the impact of the virus, it was decided to cancel the 2021 academy.
The academy board will working hard to set up the NWCA for 2022. This webpage will continue to updated as more information becomes available.
The Northwest Carving Academy has been rescheduled in Ellensburg, WA July 2022 The classes that are offered include hand and power carving, pyrography, painting and design, and baskets. Additionally, special interest classes are offered for spouses and partners.

See the quick notes section to the left to see each instructors current registration openings. If class is full you can be added to the wait list for that class.
Get your registration in as soon as possible to reserve your spot.

Waiting lists will be established as classes fill. People often change classes at the last minute, so if you are interested in a class that is listed as full be sure to get on the wait list of that class.
Location
The academy is held at the Kittitas County Fairgrounds Event Center. RV campsites are available at the fairgrounds, see registration page for details.
Add some extra time to come early or stay late and take in some of the wonderful sites in and around Ellensburg.
The carvings shown at the top of this page received the 2019 NW Carving Academy Peoples Choice Award. Each year, people attending the academy are encouraged to enter their carvings or pyrography in the gallery. Everyone attending the academy will vote on their choice for the Peoples Choice Award.
